Folks Representative Mia McLeod prefiled H 4481 to amend the “Disturbed Law” in South Carolina Schools. At Forty Six Blue & Associate’s  21st Century Social Justice Community Policing Forum last November at Ridgeview High School, we discussed the need for policy  change regarding this law. Thank you Representative McLeod for putting South Carolina’s children first and addressing this policy change.

A BILL TO AMEND SECTION 16-17-420, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO OFFENSES
INVOLVING DISTURBING SCHOOLS, SO AS TO RESTRUCTURE THE OFFENSES TO PROVIDE A DELINEATED LIST OF
THOSE ACTIONS WHICH INVOLVE DISTURBING SCHOOLS, TO REVISE THE PENALTY FOR A VIOLATION OF A
DISTURBING SCHOOLS OFFENSE, AND TO PROVIDE AN EXCEPTION FOR SCHOOL-SPONSORED ATHLETIC
